About CalcForFit
I built CalcForFit because I was tired of calculators that give you a number and nothing else.
Most fitness tools online do one thing: you type in some numbers, you get a result, and you’re left to figure out what it actually means on your own. No explanation of the formula, no context for whether the number is even reasonable, no guidance on what to do with it. That gap is what this site is trying to close.
I’ve spent 7 years training seriously, learning what works when you don’t have endless time, expensive equipment, or a perfect routine. Most of my training has been built around practical home workouts, simple strength work, and staying consistent through normal busy life. I created Bodylix.com to share the workouts, and fitness advice I wish had been easier to find when I started. Along the way I built my own spreadsheets and back-of-napkin formulas to plan training percentages, track macros, and estimate lifts I wasn’t ready to test directly. CalcForFit started as those same tools, cleaned up and made properly usable for anyone.
What you’ll find here: free calculators covering strength training, nutrition, and body composition, each one paired with a plain explanation of the formula behind it, worked examples, and honest notes on where the estimate might be off. No sign-up, no paywall, no email capture — just the tool and the explanation.
What CalcForFit is not: a substitute for a coach, a dietitian, or a doctor. Every formula on this site is a well-established, widely used estimation method — but an estimate is still an estimate. Where it matters, I’ve tried to say so plainly rather than let a clean-looking number imply more certainty than it deserves.
If you spot something that’s wrong, unclear, or missing, I’d genuinely like to hear about it — see the Contact page.
